Jeep Parts – For Fun and For Necessity
by admin
Off roading, riding the beaches, plowing through the snow are the many great pleasures of the Jeep. Sometimes referred to as Man’s Best Friend, the jeep provides the power and strength of four wheel drive, combined with a G.I. Joe feel that appeals to any guy. But one of the most stimulating aspects to the Jeep is the assortment of Jeep parts.
A man can customize and rev up the Jeep to be whatever he dreams of.
Jeep Lift Kits, lighting, fender flares, roll cages, tires, rims, bumpers and tire carriers, racks, floor mats, and more make customizing easy. Jeeps with removable doors, roofs and equipped with roll bars are the most beach friendly.
Two of the most popular Jeep parts are the lift kits and roll cages. Pump your Jeep way up high with mega size tires and a roll bar – then be sure to buckle up for the ride of your life. Ride over rough terrain such as rocks, boulders, sand and more. A trip off roading in the desert is an amazing experience for you and your Jeep. Pack up a cooler and you’re off. (more…)

Freelander by Land Rover – How to Find Information so you can carry out essential maintenance and repairs yourself
by admin
Freelander is a model manufactured by Land Rover. It is a small 4×4 car that is suited to both tarmac and off road use. It is not however a go anywhere 4×4 as it does not have a low ratio gearbox like some of it’s bigger brothers such as the Defender and Range Rover. It will get you off a muddy field with ease and an amazingly long way off the beaten track. Freelander vehicles come in a range of engine sizes from the 1.8 petrol to the v6 petrol as well as the BMW sourced TD4 diesel engine. The Freelander also came with either a 5 speed manual or a 5 speed automatic gearbox.
The Freelander model was first launched in 1997 in three body styles, 3-door hardback, 3-door softback and 5-door station wagon. There were then two trim levels which were the ‘I’ for petrol and ‘DI’ for diesel and the ‘XEI’ for petrol and ‘XEDI’ for diesel. The differences are in the higher spec models having 16” alloy wheels, ABS and Hill descent control, uprated ICE, passenger airbag and air con. It rapidly became Land Rover’s most popular model. Freelander was designed from the outset to deliver car-like levels of ride and handling on-road whilst achieving Land Rover’s world-renowned off-road performance. Over 80% of all owners of 4WD models of all makes of Freelander have no previous experience of 4WD. They move over from 2WD vehicles and become very loyal to the new brand. Over the years there have been minor updates and the Freelander 2 was launched in 2006.

The Original Jeep CJ7 – The “Perfect” Jeep
by admin
The Jeep CJ7 first made its appearance in 1976. Given a complete redesign from its predecessors, the CJ7 was the first really practical Jeep for “civilian” use. The switch to a fully boxed frame increased overall stability, as well as provided the vehicle with unrivaled strength. The leaf springs were changed and moved further outward, and anti-sway bars and a steering stabilizer were added for even more overall drivability. Though the CJ5 also received these improvements, the CJ7 featured another 10 inches in the wheelbase. On top of the more stable ride this provided, it increased rear leg room and interior cargo space. In 1982, the Jeep CJ7 was again improved with “wide track” axles upgrades. This provided a wider stance which increased side to side stability and cornering abilities.
The 1976 CJ7 came standard with a 232ci inline 6 cyclinder engine, though Jeep offered upgrades in the form of a 304ci 5.0 liter and a 258ci 4.2L inline 6 cylinder. Also offered by Jeep was the choice of a standard heavy duty Borg Warner T-150 3 speed transmission, or an optional Borg Warner T18 4 speed “granny” transmission. The Dana Model 20 was the only transfer case available upon its release.

The Features Of The 2008 Honda Odyssey
by admin
The 2008 Honda Odyssey is a fine example of the popular minivan vehicle. It is ideal for carrying the whole family, the shopping, the family dog or your tools of trade.
The Odyssey is powered by a V6 3. 5 L engine which produces 244 hp. The EX-L and the Touring models also feature cylinder deactivation during cruising, which reduces fuel consumption on the open road. There is no need to be concerned about noticing a loss of power though, because you barely notice the device has cut in when you are driving.
The good fuel economy is a feature of the Odyssey. The EPA rating is 17 miles per gallon around town and 25 miles per gallon along the highways. Combine this with beautiful handling, responsive steering and a tight turning circle and you have a vehicle that drives more like a luxury vehicle than a minivan.
